Ever since Kendall Jenner chopped her hair for her September Vogue cover, we’re fairly certain she’s gotten more and more adventurous with her ‘do. Sure, you might not think that when you see her; the supermodel’s beauty aesthetic has always been pared-down and laid-back, and doesn’t seem to change much. In other words, change for Kendall is so minute you might not even detect it. But last night, we noted that her ponytail seemed somehow…different when she appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
After some careful consideration, we realized it was a combination of her part, the height of her ponytail, and her shortened length. Kendall usually wears her hair down, in a topknot, or slicked back into a high ponytail. The Kimmel ponytail displayed none of these characteristics. Instead, it combined a center part with face-framing tendrils, low placement at the nape of her neck, and a casual vibe reminiscent of her messy topknots.
Basically, this is the kind of ponytail you can do in about two seconds flat – and it looks amazing. It’s also ideal if you have layers (or want to grow out your cut!) and need to incorporate them into a ‘do without expending any effort. Kendall went on to talk about her penchant for tidying and offered to help clean Jimmy’s house (they’re now neighbors, FYI), so the hairstyle ended up being the perfect match for the casual conversation. We’re digging the addition to her usual rotation of hairstyles, and are definitely ready for more short hair experimentation.
