Rewinding to last season’s Bridal Fashion Week

Twice a year the fashion elite converges upon New York City to celebrate all things fashion. Giants like Balmain, Yves St Laurent and Chanel debut lines for the upcoming season steering the course of fashion trends for the masses. While this is an important time in fashion, it is known that following this star-studded weekend the design giants of the bridal world come together for the New York International Bridal Week.

As we not so patiently wait for the fall’s Bridal Fashion Week (October 8 to 10), we wanted to take a look back at some of the heavy hitters from this past season’s Spring 2017 bridal week.

Twice a year the wedding elite show their collections for the upcoming fashion season. This weekend Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2017 took off in New York City. The normal heavy hitters such as Oscar de la Renta, Hayley Paige and Monique Llhuillier all debuted phenomenal new collections, as usual, as some designers (well-known and otherwise) had breathtaking fashion moments on the runway.

Lazaro, one of our previous Designers of the Week, debuted a show-stopping line of gowns sure to inspire any type of bride. Marchesa brought the romance with beautiful floral appliqués, flowing fabrics and soft silhouettes.

Jenny Packham gave her line a rock’n’roll vibe with her long flowing silk and chiffon dresses, accented with natural waists and a guitar. While Monique Lhuillier and Carolina Herrera sampled their signature styles of lace, romance and elegant sweetheart bodices.

A favorite designer, Christian Siriano closed out his Christian Siriano for Kleinfeld show with arguably the most stunning design of the entire week. The pink ombré design added drama, elegance and a little quirk to his otherwise modern, straight-lined collection. The large feather skirt and sweetheart neckline combination has never been done like this before. We see this gown on a bride dancing among the works of art at the New Orleans Museum of Art after a sweet ceremony in the sculpture garden.
