The 18th annual Jenks Pom Homecoming Fashion Show will be “A Black Tie Affair.”
This year’s fundraising event will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at the Jenks High School Performing Arts Center, 205 E. B St. The latest fashion trends, provided by local merchants, will be modeled by JHS students from every academic club, athletic organization and by teachers and administration. The seniors will model formalwear provided by Abelina’s, Alfred Angelo, Al’s Formal Wear, Alyssa’s for Glitter Design, Beshara’s, Bridal Palace, David’s Bridal, Dillard’s, Glamour Gowns, Jos. A Banks, Men’s Warehouse, Posh and Windsor.

Serving as emcees will be local media spokeswoman Julie Chin and KTUL chief meteorologist Mike Collier.
The fashion show raises funds through program ads and ticket sales for JHS Pom uniforms and helps fund JHS Pom scholarships.
This year’s squad competed at camp in June and qualified to compete at the Universal Dance Association National Competition in Orlando, Florida. Seniors on the squad are Kaylee Bryan, Emily Carter, Sara Humphrey, Morgan Rowe, Grace Stockton and Paige Thomas.
The Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman and Middle School Pom squads will perform at the event.
Tickets are $10 for reserved seating and $5 for general admission online at jenkspom.com Tickets at the door will be $15.
Pink Carpet event
The Breast Cancer Assistance Program will hold its eighth annual Pink Carpet Survivor Brunch and Fashion Show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Tulsa’s Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center, 6808 S. 107th East Ave.
Breast cancer survivors and BCAP recipients will model fashions from Zella’s Boutique, 6967 S. Lewis Ave. Those attending will also receive brunch and mimosas. A silent auction and gift bags will help BCAP raise funds to support local breast cancer patients.
BCAP, founded 10 years ago by Angie Walters, provides patients undergoing cancer treatment with financial assistance for needs including rent, mortgage and utilities. Walters started the organization to help other breast cancer patients in the greater Tulsa area.Walters will be among the models for the fashion show.
Teri Aulph and Cindy Morrison will serve as emcees for the event. The event is sponsored by Williams, HP, Hall Estill, Arvest and Stonebrook Day Spa.
Tickets purchased through Tuesday are $50 or $60 after Tuesday and at the door. Reserved tables for eight are $400 (includes two mimosa tickets per guest). A celebration
Empire Optical, 3238 E. 21st St., is celebrating its 52nd anniversary with its largest eyeglass trunk show.
The event, happening 1-5 p.m. Thursday, is circus themed and will include games, door prizes and refreshments.
The trunk show will feature frames from Ray Ban, Prada, Tory Burch, Coach, Polo, Burberry, Michael Kors, Versace and Oakley. There will also be frames and lens discounts all week, according to press information.
Tailgate party
Sweet Tooth Candy & Gift Co., 3747 S. Harvard Ave., is welcoming football season with a tailgate party as part of its 25th Year Celebration Week. The Tulsa retailer will be introducing new T-shirts from Oklahoma’s Hat & Field company, plus new scarves and socks.
The party will be held 1-6 p.m. Friday with guests receiving wine samples and Made in Oklahoma sweet and savory snacks. There will be a drawing for three new T-shirts.
All week, including Friday, customers will receive a storewide $5 off purchase of $20, $10 off purchase of $40 and $25 of purchase of $100, excluding jewelry.
Double punches on Sweet Tooth punch cards will be given for all jewelry purchases.
